How is the index produced

 

Printed books

I use Sky Index software to produce the layout and style, and for searching, editing and checking the index. Last minute changes can easily be accommodated in this way.

Completed index files can be produced in the format of rtf files, Word documents or pdf files, and supplied by email, ftp, or downloaded via my website.

 

eBooks

There are various methods of producing linked indexes in eBooks and I use a variety of tools including DexEmbed, Adobe InDesign, IndexLinker and Index-Manager. If you are interested in having an active index in an eBook, please contact me to explore how this might be achieved for your text.
